Your data in Zion Energy
Everyone can explore the demo with fictional data. To create a personal system, customers agree to contribute de-identified energy patterns to Zion to improve its models and service. Zion reviews installer access. Customers choose when to share their plans with their linked installer.
Account and service data
We keep your name, email, account type and access status. Installer accounts also contain business name and company number. Personal plans may contain home and roof information, location, equipment, normalised half-hourly electricity or gas readings, dated tariff prices, assumptions, results and review history. These service records remain private to your account. Raw CSV files remain in your browser; normalised readings are saved when you save or send a plan.
Zion-only model improvement
The separate research copy excludes names, emails, customer or installer IDs, project references, addresses, postcodes, coordinates, filenames, exact dates, tariff history and free text. When measured half-hourly data is available, we combine it into monthly weekday/weekend averages for each half-hour, round the values and omit groups containing fewer than five observations. Annual use is grouped into 500 kWh bands. Estimated inputs retain their source category and are not labelled as measured data.
Only Zion receives this contribution, for improving its models and service. These are de-identified aggregate patterns, rather than a copy of your dated meter history. We do not promise that energy patterns are incapable of being re-identified. You may use the fictional demo without making this agreement.
Sharing with an installer
Sending your plan to the installer named in your account is a separate, explicit sharing choice. That submission includes the full normalised half-hourly history and tariff prices, if supplied, and your contact details. The installer must have authorised full access. Your account is bound to one installer; another installer cannot access it by changing a website link. Later customer changes and published installer revisions remain separate.
Storage and access
Account and plan records are stored privately through Firebase and the Zion API. Account permissions are checked on the server. Expired or revoked installer access locks customer data and plan editing. Location services receive the location information needed for requested map, weather, sunlight or tariff lookups.
Retention and enquiries
Account plans and research contributions currently have no automatic expiry. Contact Zion to request access, correction or deletion of your identifiable account data. Aggregate contributions deliberately have no account identifier, so they cannot be located by your email for removal. Data enquiries: armand.leibbrandt@gmail.com.
